Canada’s March to the Match continues to work its way through the Toronto streets toward the stadiums.
Beautiful scenes as fans chant and cheer and high five fans who are lining the streets.
It’s going to be electric inside the stadium today.
As Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon concludes her service as Governor General, we thank her for a lifetime dedicated to Indigenous rights, reconciliation, and service to all Canadians.
We’re honouring her work with $5 million to establish the Ajuinnata: The Mary Simon Catalyst for Mental Wellness and we’re matching every dollar up to $10 million that the Rideau Hall Foundation raises. Building on Mary Simon’s advocacy, this project will provide lifesaving counselling, culturally grounded services, and peer-led mental health care to Northern and Indigenous communities.
Pierre Poilievre: Millions of BC homeowners wonder if they even own their home. They're tossing and turning every single night.
PM Carney: It's sad — the person who's tossing and turning every night is the Leader of the Opposition trying to come up with new ways to stoke fear and division in this country.
Roots Strategies was proud to sponsor this year’s Odawa Powwow alongside the National Association of Friendship Centres.
We had the opportunity to connect with community members alongside Jennifer Rankin, CEO of @NAFC_ANCA.
Thank you to the Odawa Native Friendship Centre @OdawaNFC for organizing such a meaningful event.
In friendship.

I need to talk about Sen̓áḵw.
This word has been in the news for years, and I still hear it mispronounced constantly—by journalists, politicians, and well-meaning people who just haven't been shown how.
It's a word from the Squamish Language.
Let me walk you through it. 🧵
On Wednesday, I was honoured to be at the Aboriginal Friendship Centre of Calgary to announce over $3.3M for Indigenous-led public safety and crime prevention programs.
This includes $2.1M for AFCC’s Ahmahtoo’siim-ahkoohmsi (Smudge Vow) Project and $1.25M for USAY’s youth programming. Public safety and healing go hand in hand, and these investments will support Indigenous men, women and youth with connection, guidance and support rooted in culture and community.
The AFN welcomes Chief Justice Glenn Joyal’s landmark decision, which confirms that Canada and Manitoba violated First Nations’ constitutionally protected right to self-governance in child welfare. The ruling reaffirms the inherent right of First Nations to raise children within their cultures, communities, languages, spiritual traditions, and connections to the land. We stand with First Nations in Manitoba as they continue this important work toward justice and reconciliation. @AMCMBChiefs https://t.co/JPuSonNTfj
(Bloomberg) -- A court in Alberta ruled that political activists can’t proceed with a petition to force a vote on separation from Canada because the government failed to meet its obligation to consult with Indigenous people.

Children can no longer wait. We are moving forward with the implementation of the Ontario Final Agreement on the reform of child and family services, as planned. Funds will begin flowing to communities on May 29. This is self-determination in action.

On the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2SLGBTQI+ People, we honour the survivors, those taken, and everyone whose life has been changed by the MMIWG2S+ crisis in Canada.
To ensure The National Family and Survivors Circle has the tools to build a safer, more equitable society, today, we are providing the NFSC with $2.6 million in funding over three years.
A historic first in Canada.
Abegweit First Nation, Canada, and the Province of Prince Edward Island are coming together under the country’s first-ever multilateral emergency management agreement—a major shift in how emergencies are managed.
The Prairie Green Landfill’s final cost was $18.4 million, only one-tenth the cost the PCs said it would be.
Their campaign to not search was never about safety, feasibility, or even cost. It was always about racism.
Prayers for Morgan, Marcedes, and all the families affected.
No modern treaty, negotiated agreement, or federal approach has led to people losing privately-owned land.
Canada’s new government will work with provinces and territories to advance reconciliation and protect the property rights of all Canadians.
