I would really like AI to not be integrated into every app, every search engine, every customer service call. It makes the user experience so unpleasant.
Sean Astin, the President of SAG-AFTRA, recently testified before a U.S. House Judiciary subcommittee in support of the bipartisan NO FAKES Act.
The proposed law would protect everyone, not just celebrities, from unauthorised AI-generated replicas of their voice and likeness.
Shame sony have killed playstation, I’d been pondering a ps5 now the chaos around availability and prices died down a bit but not if they’re scrapping disks and promoting ai. Not a chance in hell, wont even buy a controller to use with the pc now.
The internet reacts to Sony announcing it's killing off PlayStation game discs:
"Incredible of PlayStation to announce the end of physical disc production the week after they deleted all the movies you bought digitally from your account"

So it's starting to look like there's a concerted effort by tech companies to deliberately undermine copyright in favour of AI and they are definitely meddling with democracy.
Yesterday, the @UKHouseofLords' Communications Committee was supposed to meet at 2.30pm to grill UK ministers @leicesterliz Liz Kendall and @lisanandy live about what progress the govt has made on AI and copyright since March, particularly relating to transparency about the datasets used to train AI models, and what statutory requirements commercial AI developers will need to adhere to.
Instead, the session was cancelled without warning, and the House of Lords press office tells me that there is no date in the diary currently to reschedule the session.
This is very, very bad news.
I remember when the tech world tried to launch Google Glass in the Bay Area. People got booed and kicked out of bars and restaurants, and some even got smacked. Google eventually gave up on making that happen. We need that same energy for Meta glasses.
Actually, I miss the world before AI more than I miss the world before the pandemic. I hate what it’s doing to publishing, job markets, schooling, and the internet. It’s made people question every piece of content they see. I’m tired of reading about it, seeing it, or thinking about it.
this money could be used to change the world for the better and its instead being used by the wealthy to destroy the planet just to become even more wealthy
I still cannot believe how bloated modern web development has become
You open a random website and see megabytes of javascript garbage loading in the background just to render a basic static button
I think we're completely overcomplicating everything and pretending it is progress
A person that becomes a trillionaire should be shamed and ostracized for hoarding massive amounts of wealth. That kind of behavior isn’t admirable but rather greedy and sociopathic.
Zack Polanski criticised the police for being heavy handed with a RT and he got a formal rebuke from the police and got grilled by the media.
Farage incites riots and condemns the police causing them of murder and nothing.
Two tier media more like.
