Every immigrant group in Ireland outworks its population share. Every one!
Indian nationals are 0.84% of Ireland’s population and 3.1% of its workforce. No nationality the CSO tracks contributes more labour relative to its size. 🧵1/5
One catch: the two figures aren’t the same vintage. Population share is Census 2022, Ireland’s last full census. Workforce share is CSO 2024, from Revenue payroll data. No 2024 population-by-nationality figure exists; the next census is 2027.🧵4/5
Happy Independence Day to every Indian in Ireland marking it today.
