Elbit Systems, Israel’s largest 'defense' company, reported a rise in quarterly profit on Tuesday, driven by double-digit sales growth.

The company said it earned $4.14 per diluted share, excluding one-time items, in the second quarter, compared with $3.23 a year earlier. Revenue increased to $2.29 billion from $1.97 billion.

Elbit’s order backlog reached a record $32 billion as of 30 June, with most of the increase driven by demand from Europe. Around 73% of the backlog consists of orders from outside Israel.
