'You don't look like you've got dementia!' People living with a diagnosis regularly tell us they experience similar, thoughtless comments. These are a form of stigma.
This #WorldAlzheimersMonth, we want to educate those who think dementia is a joke. https://t.co/lstSxXD5kY
📣 It’s World Alzheimer’s Month!
Here’s the splendid @stephenfry to start the month off right, with a message of hope. Hope for a better future for people affected by dementia. Believe in breakthroughs this #WorldAlzMonth
Great to see that this has come into effect today... https://t.co/w9UJV8CkVd people with hidden disabilities are now able to apply for blue badges - this includes people with #dementia
People with dementia refuse care in hospital because of how it’s delivered. Structured environments/routines make it difficult for people with dementia to communicate concerns. Ward staff shouldn’t assume resistant behaviours are always due to dementia 👇 https://t.co/rKmMiKAZUN

Stigma about dementia still exists in all communities up and down the UK, but people within BAME communities often face particular challenges. Dementia is not a normal part of ageing; it’s caused by physical diseases. It's not something to be ashamed of.
Let's get talking.
Thank you so much to every person that baked, faked, bought and supported on #CupcakeDay last week.
Every cake made, every bake bought and every pound raised will help us beat dementia – thank you for making this the biggest and best #CupcakeDay yet! 🧁
It's a common misconception that our badges are to help identify people living with dementia in public. In fact, a person might be wearing a forget-me-not badge because a loved one has dementia or to help raise awareness. Find out what they represent here: https://t.co/JslNbWM6vI
'My grandma has dementia, but she's still my grandma and I love her and I know she loves me.'
We love this cartoon strip that @tonyhusband1 has shared for #CarersWeek. Tony, you're so passionate about raising awareness of dementia through your work - thank so much!
