Good question.
Firstly, @NELFUND is not stalking you the moment you graduate. You will not even be on their radar for two years after NYSC. Calm down.
Secondly, after those two years, the question is simple. Are you working or at least finding your feet. They are not chasing you around with interest like loan sharks.
Thirdly, if life is still doing you somehow after those two years, they are not dragging you. It is more like “we understand, go and sort yourself out.” There is a level of humanity baked into this.
Fourthly, if you are earning, the approach is not punishment. It is structure. Small, almost forgettable deductions. The kind you barely notice. Like another subscription you did not cancel.
Fifthly, if things go south again and you lose that income, they are not unreasonable. Everything pauses. Nobody is squeezing water from stone.
Sixthly, in the unfortunate event of death, the loan dies with you. No drama. No transfer of burden to your family. It ends there.
Seventhly, and this is where I will be blunt. Why are you already afraid of paying back something that is designed to help you get ahead. You are still a student and you have decided, in advance, that you will not make it in two years. On what basis exactly.
At some point, it stops being caution and starts looking like self sabotage.
Almost two weeks ago, the Ecosystem Mixer was one of those evenings that moved at its own pace. Honest conversations within our ecosystem, new introductions, and moments that unfolded naturally as the room came alive with shared ideas and genuine connection.
What we hope comes from that gathering is a truly collaborative and connected ecosystem, built on trust, openness, and shared progress. We are glad to be right at the centre of that journey.
Day 2 had Akinyemi Awodumila lead a strong session on trust, tech, and leadership shaping how we scale with intention in 2025.
Here are some of our favorite shots.

This week’s digest explains the Federal Government’s 2026 spending plan, the jump in the deficit, and the economic assumptions driving it.
You’ll also find NTB auction insights, Ghana’s latest inflation figures, and treasury bill results from Kenya, plus a full FX table.
We chose Kenya for our Ecosystem Mixer because the region leads in digital finance and innovation. While here, we also held our annual retreat.
Our first strategy session was led by Ralph Opara, Country Managing Director, Access Bank (Kenya),
When we planned the ecosystem mixer, we hoped to bring together people who care about a more connected financial landscape for Africa. That hope became reality.
Thank you to everyone who made our first edition a truly meaningful one.

"Everyone is talking about !n$3curity in Nigeria but the real truth is you can't secure a country you can't count. For almost 20 years Nigeria has been running bl! nd. There has not been a fresh census, no real number and no reliable data. We're f!&ht!ng insecurity with outdated maps and demographic assumptions."
