Jalisco remains under maximum security alert following the killing of Nemesio "El Mencho" Oseguera Cervantes, founder and leader of the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG). Areas reported under attack or direct aggression are provided below, as of 13:30 CST.
Military / security presence
Tapalpa (Jalisco) – Intense firefights and direct attacks on federal forces in and around the Tapalpa Country Club area; SEDENA reports personnel were attacked and responded with force during the operation where El Mencho was reportedly killed.
Access roads to Tapalpa and south‑Jalisco municipalities – Armed confrontations and ambush‑type fire against Army/National Guard units moving to clear blockades.

A 14-minute security-camera recording from a slot-machine business in Peribán, Michoacán, shows at least five men in military-style tactical gear beating and threatening a young employee on Monday.
Three were arrested after clashes between rival gangs were reported in Jiquilpan, Michoacan at around 01:00 hours on Thursday. According to local reports, the clashes were between members of the CJNG and the Los Pajaros Sierra. No casualties were reported.
At least 10 were killed following an attack at El Jarras bar on Independencia Street in Tarimoro, Guanajuato today. The Cartel Santa Rosa de Llma (CSRL) claimed responsibility. Initially, 9 victims were reported, though the 10th succumbed to injuries at the hospital.
Several clashes and road blockades occurred across Zacatecas on Friday night and into Saturday morning. No casualties have been reported.

The Secretary of Public Security of the State Cristóbal Castañeda Camarillo stated that the officers have been removed from duty and an investigation has been ordered into the "possible acts of corruption" perpetrated by the Sinaloa police.
A video has surfaced purporting to show an officer of the Sinaloa state police taking cash from the driver of a red truck. The individual recording the video can be heard saying, "…they took his money," while the officer counts the bills.
The clashes occurred at kilometer 28 of the Mexico-Cuernavaca highway around 14:30 hours local time, after authorities arrived to secure a safe house in the San Andrés Totoltepec neighborhood.
14 were arrested and 2 officers were injured in clashes between CDS and officers in Topilejo, Tlalpan, Mexico City today. Two kidnap victims were also rescued. The gunmen are members of the CDS faction of Los Chapitos, specifically under Ovidio Guzmán López, known as "El Raton"
Mexico registered 2,289 homicides in June - the 2nd deadliest month this year, and 13,131 homicides this year. The highest figures were recorded in Guanajuato (264), Michoacan (215), Mexico State (203), Jalisco (165), Chihuahua (155) and Nuevo Leon (138).
A municipal police officer was kidnapped from inside the municipal headquarters by gunmen in Villa Juárez, San Luis Potosi this afternoon. The kidnapping, which was caught on CCTV, shows the moment that around five gunmen arrive and remove the officer by force.
