Had someone use "Love the sinner, hate the sin" when referring to my LGBTQ+ child. I said it was akin to "Love the sinner, hate the woman" You really are saying their very identity is a sin.
I feel like I flubbed it up bad, but it's what came to mind. I need to get better @ this

@jencoles9 Years of walking on eggshells, & being hyper vigilant because an unsafe storm of a spouse can store up at any moment.
You're body has been trained to brave for the worst & run interception. Totally understandable. Take heart, he fact that you can now see it is a sign of healing.

On the bright side, I declined the invitation to spend the holiday with them, and there wasn't immediate hell to pay. So that's a plus!

Me: Have you tried *******?
Them: No, that's a waste of time.

Today...
Them: I ran into someone that does *******. I'm going to do it too.
Me: screams internally.

Why?? Why ask when you're just going to ignore me & tell me I'm wrong? I don't fricken get it. It's almost like they need the opportunity to slap me down. 🙄

Woke to my grown child needing me to be there for them. So I was. Cause that's what you do.

I've fallen behind on everything. My house is a mess, laundry is dirty, food is prepackaged. I've no energy to take care of any of it.

But my kid is still here. That is what's important.
