Proud to be a @YourStMarys doctoral student! Around this time, 4 years ago, I had an initial conversation with Chris about starting my EdD journey. I'm now in my 4th year as an EdD student, busy researching and writing with the support of the best supervisory team!

Vygotsky's 'Zone of Proximal Development' is perhaps the most misunderstood idea in education. It was never a teaching method but a metaphor for how teaching can pull thinking upward, from the everyday to the scientific. ⬇️ 🧵
@montycar62@InfoNeari Hi Caroline, would also be really interested to read your MEd research! I think it's such important work to positively shape induction for ECTs. Key findings for me so far is the value of communities of practice and bespoke CPD sessions to support ECT development.
It was great to attend and present at today's #NeariMeet and share my doctoral journey with such a supportive group of people who encourage critical thinking and reflective practice @InfoNeari

I started my EdD journey two years ago with @SMUResearchED and yesterday had a successful CDRI interview. I'm excited for phase two of the EdD and utilising action research as a method to explore how I can improve my role as an induction tutor #ECTinductiontutor#actionresearch
