@Finnegan1435321 @PsalmWarfare The only titles of God that the LXX+NT transliterate rather than translate are "Jesus", "Messiah" (Aramaic term for "Anointed One"; same as Greek "Christ"), and sometimes the descriptor "Sabaoth" (Aramaic for "of Forces", or as most English versions say: "of Hosts"/"Almighty").

That in turn leads to the argument posed by the article above, wherein the existence of a coherent reality necessitates an Infinite to contain it.

Pharaoh is not the slam-dunk proof for Calvinism that people often present it to be.

In fact, the Exodus account gives us a rather inconvenient sequence for that argument.

Scripture tells us that Pharaoh repeatedly hardened his own heart before God ever hardened his heart.

Exodus 8:15
Exodus 8:32
Exodus 9:34-35

...only THEN does Scripture begin describing God as the one hardening his heart.

The text presents Pharaoh as a willing and culpable participant in his own rebellion. God, after repeatedly displaying patience, hardens him in the context of that rebellion, and then uses Pharaoh's resistance to accomplish His sovereign purpose.

And no, Romans 9 doesn't erase this context. Paul is explicitly drawing from the Exodus account.

No one is claiming Romans 9 doesn't teach God's sovereignty, but saying, "God is sovereign, therefore God irresistibly caused Pharaoh's rebellion, therefore Pharaoh could not have done otherwise, therefore this proves unconditional election and reprobation"... is not what the text actually says.

So yes, Pharaoh shows us that God is sovereign. What it doesn't do is prove every Calvinistic conclusion about determinism, irresistible grace, unconditional election, and reprobation.

Back up just a few chapters to Romans 1. Paul explicitly teaches that when people continually reject God and choose their own sin, God eventually "gives them over" to it.

That seems incredibly relevant to Pharaoh, if you ask me.

@CoreyJMahler I see you've begun working on a Generations page. You'll want to at least mention the textual variant for Methuselah's begetting age, which is 167 in Swete, but 187 in some manuscripts (and surely has to be 187 in fact since otherwise Methuselah outlives the Flood).

@RealUndyingStar Sonic 3D Blast has some tricks that could help, but the Mania intro is way longer than anything used there.

There are several scenes where you could probably reuse the previous frame and only animate the active character.
