To the left you have the Çelebi Sultan Mehmed Mosque in northern Greece. To the right you have The Florence Cathedral in Italy. Built about 10 years apart.

One is considered the most important Ottoman era mosque in Greece, while the other is considered one of the most important examples of Renaissance architecture.

I won’t dare show you the differences on the inside, but I hope this helps some of you understand how destructive 400 years of Ottoman oppression were on Greece, and on human civilization as a whole.
