My point is relevant. You’re criticizing him for choosing money over being openly SGL while publicly teasing him (the “glass closet”) for staying in the closet. How can we demand authenticity while contributing to the very environment that makes people afraid to come out?

We see it all the time! One second they’re adored and then the next, hated. Look at Obio & Jermelle. Most still love them but there are some miserable people who are ultra critical of everything they do now. At first it was, “we want visibility” and now “they post too much” 😒

We talk so much about wanting visibility and for ppl to live authentically, but we also have to create an environment where they feel safe to do so. What incentive is there to come out of said glass closet only to be teased by the very community you’re hoping to be embraced by?
