I’ve had a hard time focusing today. I just can’t quite put down that despicable post from the man that aborted his daughter because her test results indicated she likely had Down Syndrome.

As the father of a daughter with DS, I know the statistics (I also know how the conversation goes with the Geneticist…), but to see someone publicly announce the murder of their child, and with such egocentric disdain, just has me very upset today.

But she’s not the only one, there is a horrifying growing trend for seniors in America

- A record 12.5 million senior households, more than 1 in 3 seniors, are “house poor,” spending over 30% of their income on housing
- 45% of Senior Households Can’t Cover Basics
- 80% Are Financially Vulnerable
- Nearly 12 million Americans aged 65+ are still working, the highest rate in decades
- Nearly 14 million seniors face food insecurity
- 58% of older renters are cost-burdened, spending over 30% of income on rent

Here’s the worst part. Low-income seniors die an average of 9 years earlier than high-income seniors

It’s about honoring 250 years of freedom. It’s about the men and women who fought, bled, and died to give us this country and keep it free.

The 250th should be a time to unite Americans, not divide us further. Any artist backing out of these celebrations should be ashamed. We need more unity, not more boycotts.
