Today's #WorldMentalHealthDay is a good day to remind that acc. to the latest WHO report https://t.co/bf7UaoyK9p 350mio suffer from #depression worldwide. We need more prevention! @ucl is launching an online CBT programme https://t.co/3CWR3hUOj3 tomorrow. Well done!
Another two sad youth #depression cases that may have benefited from better prevention. Read the full report with their mothers' say @BBC

@openscience one step further as a group of EU national funding agencies require every paper it funds to be freely available from the moment of publication as revealed by @sciencemagazine (https://t.co/dfLZfaSTiE). #openscience#openaccess @nicebread303
@EJ_Vargo Too much "could" to my mind. In the past a lot of promises derived from animal models couldn't keep their promises; 1:1 transfer from animal to human brain seems difficult. Preventing #depression relapses from childhood onwards is smarter: https://t.co/mMNhNgajkS
@alisonmdarcy#Woebot ist a highly valuable #eHealth idea @alisonmdarcy! Since I get +media enquiries on treating #depression using #mHealth as a clinical psychologist&MDD scientist, I'd like to see clinical studies with Woebot in future. Are you planning this?
Wonder if #Woebot@alisonmdarcy can cure severe, recurrent, chronic depression? Groundbreaking study https://t.co/lfc19RINxc did not include clinical MDD but dysphoric students assessed by 1min screening. #digitalhealth should investigate real patients if it is aims to help them.

Fantastic! We made >11k EUR to develop an automatic early warning system against child depression @ucl & @uni_tue. ❤️Thx to all our generous supporters! @actondepression@Rethink_: Be also part of this groundbraking research with your donation on https://t.co/7FA30J0VLg
Fantastic! We raised 10k EUR for our https://t.co/7FA30J0VLg study @uni_tue@ucl to develop an automatic early-warning system for youth with depression. We'll focus on subtle changes in WhatsApp texting to predict upcoming episodes. We won't stop at 10k! Support us till 5.3.!
@EJ_Vargo There is also a question of culture. In Germany journalists usually reassure if they got it right by checking their texts with the scientists. I appreciate this opportunity too as there are misunderstandings almost always and journalists are grateful to have double checks.
As a #depression researcher @ucl@uni_tue, I'd like to point out that the decision to commit suicide is made in depressive mood, only few exceptions. Best decision is to prevent: https://t.co/8AQhIwzA1l , https://t.co/EvOY9UESBg @matthaig1@TheUnofficialM1 @She_RaRoberts
+effects of affect regulation (AR) may be maintained in post-treat. via texting short AR instructions to MDD patients https://t.co/DIVkN0qfNA. But sign. limitations raise questions regard. conclusions. More on https://t.co/v5BicTqHzf
Drug treat. algorithm (DTA) may reduce costs in depressed inpatients, study says https://t.co/iMJrOVl0Og. Yet, there was no sign. impact of DTA on remission but a sign. higher dropout due to side effects and difficult-to-treat patients. Concl.: Less costs, few patient benefits?
Prof. Patrick Pössel (Uni Louisville, USA https://t.co/mkpAnXkKYD): Up to three quarters of depressed children and adolescents are not being treated or not treated appropriately.
Study shows: A single 30min self-administered treatment session can reduce depressive symptoms in adolescents. 9mths later, patients continue to profit. https://t.co/WorkEkCuew
