Eventually all the high ranking STEM schools and their output will be felt. Anyone tracking global school STEM rankings will not be surprised. The condescending copying mantra will end at some point and the stupid look of surprise and panic will come next. But if they tracked the institutions that drive innovation, it would not come as a surprise out of the blue and might validate the rankings as meaningful. We will see but working in my field, the rapidly rising competence is visible.
