Our first U21 Premier League International Cup Matchday Observation of the season is here!

Join us as Nottingham Forest U21s take on Sporting CP U21s, with coaches given the opportunity to observe the game live while completing a series of observation tasks.

The session will focus on team possession, with coaches analysing formations, tactics, individual player roles and decision-making throughout the fixture.

⚽ 3v3 LEAGUE LAUNCH!

On Sunday 27 September, our brand-new @GoCardless 3v3 League kicks off at the University of Derby Sports Centre - and we can’t wait to get started!

Alongside the football, we’ll also be running a Know Your Formats CPD for coaches from 9:30am-12pm, plus free haircuts by @suavebarbers for the children on the day! 💈

👋 Welcome to Derbyshire FA, Martin Beard!

We’re delighted to welcome Martin as our new Referee Development Officer.

Martin has been refereeing since the age of 14 and has been affiliated with Derbyshire throughout his refereeing journey. He is currently a Level 3 referee, having previously operated as an Assistant Referee within the professional game, and now specialises as a Step 3 and 4 referee within the non-league pyramid.

Alongside his on-field experience, Martin has worked as a referee developer and mentor, while his background as a teacher brings a wealth of experience in education and supporting the development of others.

We’re delighted that our Football, Friends & Memories project, in collaboration with @alzheimerssoc, @spireitestrust, @DCCTOfficial, @ErewashCVS, @ActiveDerbys & Sing Along With Ellie has been shortlisted for the Special Recognition Award at the County FA Recognition Awards 2026.

The project brought people affected by dementia together at Chesterfield FC, using the power of football to create connections, friendships and lasting memories.

We’re incredibly proud to see the project recognised nationally and look forward to representing Derbyshire at Wembley Stadium in November.

👋 Welcome to Derbyshire FA, Ryan Baldwin!

We’re delighted to welcome Ryan as our new Football Development Officer (Workforce & Male Pathway).

Ryan joins us with extensive experience across education, coaching and player development, having spent five years working full-time within Derby County Community Trust’s Education Department, progressing to Senior Education Officer.

He also brings six years of experience within female football at Derby County, working across the Regional Talent Centre and Female Talent Pathway.

In his new role, Ryan will support the development of our football workforce across Derbyshire, alongside helping to grow and strengthen opportunities within the male player pathway.

The 2026/27 Senior Challenge Cup Round One draw has been confirmed, with six ties kicking off this season’s competition.

Nine clubs will enter the competition in Round Two.
