With storm chances for the Sierra this weekend, it's important to get *live* updates on the forecast from the meteorologists who know NorCal best. This morning @KCRAtberg and @KCRAOphelia had the latest. Tonight @KCRAHeather and @KCRAdverdoorn have your back on @kcranews.

In the heart of the world's fourth-largest economy, politics play an important part of the news cycle. Last year we launched California Politics 360° and, as of this weekend, our program will reach 11.6M households across California. Here's where to watch: https://t.co/O1PQA7NrjW

Welcome to our blank canvas, a first-of-its kind innovation studio for Sacramento TV. It's part of how we're thinking differently about immersive storytelling at @kcranews. It's been great to come up with ways to showcase content in the last several months with much more to come.

[Heather Waldman @KCRAHeather]

Whoa! Big burst of rain with this line coming through. Small hail at my place too.

This will really charge up the snow rates once it hits the Sierra later this morning.

[Heather Waldman @KCRAHeather]

OK Foothills & lower Sierra friends, this one's for you.

Tried to get a couple snow forecasts in for each county in @kcranews's viewing area.

If I left you out and you have a question, reply and let me know!

Have you ever seen an FAQ explain why a Non-Disclosure Agreement is in place on a taxpayer funded project?

California Capitol Annex project leaders updated website with doc explaining several things they hid from the public.

Still no cost estimate:

The A's announce an agreement in place with C Shea Langeliers on a one-year contract for the 2026 season, avoiding arbitration.

@phillipnhenry @kcranews @KCRAGulstanDart @ArielRoblinKCRA We had hours of conversation with our journalists about this coverage to try to provide a complete picture of what we know and what we don't yet know. Ultimately, our aim is to work to present all angles so you can draw your own conclusions.

[Derek Schnell @Derek_HTV]

@phillipnhenry @kcranews @KCRAGulstanDart @ArielRoblinKCRA We are still working to independently connect with the witnesses and gain permission to show their video. In the meantime, we'll do the best we can to explain the latest information and new context related to the case.

FRIDAY 11/7

Beautiful weekend. Rain chances begin Thursday.

.10-.50" is currently a reasonable estimate for that day in Sacramento. There's room for changes in either direction.

Friday onward? Huge differences in potential rain. Very little snow. We'll see how it unfolds!

[Sean Cunningham @SeanCunningham]

Kings head coach Doug Christie talks about hosting the shorthanded Warriors tonight without Domantas Sabonis and Zach LaVine, the addition of Precious Achiuwa and looking for more 3-point attempts.

Both the American Model (GFS) & the European Model (ECMWF) are showing *something* for California late next week/weekend.

But there's a lot of inconsistency with amounts & timing.

It's another one of these cutoff low patterns & models typically have a hard time with them.

[Heather Waldman @KCRAHeather]

It's been a soggy day for a lot of us, but I'll be the first to admit that the wind came in under expectations, at least for the Valley.

Hit and miss showers will continue through the evening with an occasional breeze.

Sierra travel will be wet and windy. @kcranews

In Prop 50 victory speech, Gov. Gavin Newsom calls on other Democratic states to redistrict.

“We need the state of Virginia, we need the state of Maryland, we need our friends in NY, in Illinois, in Colorado, we need to see other states..meet this moment head on as well.”
