I’m going to take a break from CoinPoker.
I just want to say a couple of things first.
The new rake structure has effectively made heads-up unplayable for me against recs. I consider myself a strong HU player, but there’s a limit to what even a strong player can overcome. I don’t think I can beat tables without the battlecap. I tried.
Look, I love CoinPoker. It’s actually been the only site I’ve played on for the past couple of years.
I don’t know what went into this decision. I’m sure there are things happening behind the scenes that I know absolutely nothing about.
Maybe they were forced to make certain changes. Maybe there are business considerations I simply don’t understand.
And that’s fine. I don’t pretend to know how to run a poker company. And they don’t owe us anything either.
But this time, the change hit my little corner of the client really hard.
Especially Heads up.
I’m not interested in turning this into some campaign against CoinPoker either. I don’t believe in that approach, and I don’t think it helps anyone.
And I still love Coinpoker and respect the people there, I just don’t agree with this particular change.
I just want to be honest. This one really hurt me. All my volume basically disappeared over night.
I obviously hope there’s room for some kind of compromise down the road. Something that would at least make heads-up playable again. But if that doesn’t happen, so be it. Life goes on.
CoinPoker has given me so much over the past five years. It’s been an amazing poker site, and I wish them nothing but success. I do believe they have the potential to become the biggest poker site in the world. Always believed that, still do.
And to be fair, I needed a break anyway. I’ve been working incredibly hard these past few months.
I just hope that one day I can come back to the site I’ve enjoyed playing on more than anywhere else.
I wish you all the best. I really do. 🙏

What makes Linus so incredibly difficult to play against?
We asked Pr0digy during his recent appearance on our channel, and he had an interesting viewpoint about what makes Linus so different from the rest of the field.
So close to being 500k hands into this year’s sample!
Im proud of the volume but I’d like to find more consistency and balance between study/play.
Just have to keep grinding! 🔥
PR0DIGY took three months off to study heads-up poker. When he finally sat down to play, the regulars reported him for cheating.
That’s one way to find out the studying worked.

NEW TOOL: Pool Simulator
https://t.co/mEr7hIsbSv
The pool simulator gives a pool of 6-max regs exactly the same skill and plays them against each other at random tables, so every gap in their results is due to luck.
Run 1,000 break-even regs for 50k hands and someone usually ends up around +14 bb/100, while someone else sits around −14.
On my way to Vancouver to sit in a hotel room to play online.
Flights, travel expenses, to sit in front of a computer instead of just being able to do it from home.
It is just so incredibly stupid that you have to leave America to play online poker.
What are we even doing?
Breaking: the big tax bill with a provision to repeal the 90% cap on gambling losses was just overwhelmingly voted through, with bipartisan support, to the House Rules Committee. It’s a technical step before it goes to the House floor for a full vote.
Very pleased to see that my gambling loss tax deduction fix has finally been included in a tax package. I encourage my colleagues to push it through @WaysandMeansGOP this week as quickly as possible.
The paradox of every pro poker player.
A) playing volume + study + fitness = no social life
B) social life + playing volume + fitness = no study
C) study + social life + playing volume = no fitness
And then there are those of us with kids and a business too 😅
Million Dollar Week
Nobody can spin like the legend @ViktorBlom
A week ago "Isildur1" deposited $13k and decided to take on all comers in just about every game format. The challenge was accepted by many and in just 1 week the online legend spun his deposit into over $1.1 Million bananas
