Of course, expqnding an airport would benefit consumers.

Building high-speed rail would also benefit consumers. So would expanding competition in the domestic airline market. Or paving urban parks for parking lots.

Governments have to consider more than just consumer benefits.

Indictments and arrests will happen before the midterms. Then they'll be tossed out afterwards when they actually go to trial, if at all.

The point is to discredit people and create the appearance of scandals based on unproven allegations, for short-term partisan gain.

A councilor from a rural ward should not be heavily involved in deciding, say, bike or bus lanes downtown.
