A heartbreaking investigation revealed that Trump's Bureau of Land Management is systematically rounding up thousands of America's wild horses, then quietly selling them off to buyers who are shipping them to slaughterhouses abroad.

Before, the U.S. government rarely sold wild horses. But since Trump took office, government sales have more than doubled.

Slaughterhouses pay up to $750 a wild horse, the investigation found.

The Bureau of Land Management is nominally in charge of protecting the 73,000 or so wild horses who roam America's public lands in the West. Under Trump, the Bureau is sending our wild horses to the slaughterhouse.

Meet Sophia, a 22-year-old, geriatric horse.

In December 2025, at the first-ever independent exam of NYC's carriage horses, Dr. Kraig Kulikowski found her unfit for work. She was found to be in pain, with apparent leg issues.

Seven months later, Sophia was spotted limping in Central Park, barely able to walk, her horseshoe falling off. A witness had to step in and demand the driver pull over. She was pulling a carriage full of passengers, creating an incredibly dangerous situation. She could have collapsed, seriously injuring herself, the passengers, the driver, and others in Central Park.

We fear Sophia is still being worked in this condition. That's not acceptable.

So we're making a direct plea to her owner: retire Sophia. A sanctuary is ready and waiting for her, and we are prepared to help cover the costs. She's given enough. She deserves to rest.

Los perros no existen para correr hasta el límite por nuestro espectáculo.
