People vehemently believe that there are safety nets in place if you become disabled. That no matter what, you have all your needs met. If you believe this, you’re in for a rude awakening if you ever become disabled.
Fun fact: when women are on their period, they're being flooded with testosterone. which means when men say we're emotional and hysterical on our period, it's actually because we're acting like a man.
This's not Gaza. This's Lebanon...
Similarities between Israel's bombing of Gaza and Lebanon are growing. Hospitals in flames and children buried beneath rubbles, in flagrant violation of all international laws and treaties, with full impunity and absolutely no consequences.
So let me get this straight:
When immigrants take jobs, it’s a national crisis.
When AI takes jobs, it’s innovation.
Can someone explain why we’re supposed to fear people willing to work, but celebrate technology designed to replace workers?
What am I seeing?
- Reduced empathy
- Increased aggression
- Rising support for authoritarianism
- Declining critical thinking
- Less moral inhibition
- Rising disinhibition & antisocial behavior
- Lack of focus/commitment
- Frequent memory lapses
- Increased impulsivity
People talk about the pain.
People talk about the fatigue.
Nobody talks about the boredom.
The boredom of being stuck at home while everyone is out living their lives.
The boredom of spending another weekend inside.
The boredom of missing events you wanted to attend.
The same four walls during flares when you’re bedbound.
Eventually you realize you’re not bored because there’s nothing to do.
You’re bored because there’s so much you can’t do.
The 9-to-5 system should be completely abolished. Workdays should be 10-3 or 9-2. There’s no reason people should spend most of their lives at work. Let people go home and have time for their families, partners, friends, and rest. This is why so many people hate their jobs.
It is okay to be Jewish.
It is okay to attend your local synagogue.
It is okay to celebrate Hannukah.
It is not okay to use white phosphorus on civilians in Gaza and Lebanon.
A farmer in Texas says he hasn't seen a single live calf born since a data center was built next to his property.
Only stillbirths since.
If that's happening to livestock what effects will it have on the people around it?
A co-worker of mine recently had a heart issue and ended up needing to go to the hospital in an ambulance. He was admitted and required to stay in the hospital overnight.
That ambulance and overnight stay cost over $100K.
Even with insurance, his out-of-pocket cost was still thousands of dollars. He's gainfully employed and has a decent insurance plan.
How does the average American who can't afford healthcare and who has an emergency situation ever recover from the financial burden of trying to save their own life?
The "fraud" in healthcare isn't from immigrants. It's the insurance companies who are commoditizing healthcare to the point of unattainability or financial ruin for the average American.
Nobody is coming to save your aging parent.
Not Medicare.
Not the hospital.
Not their primary care doctor.
When your mom gets discharged on 14 medications and three specialist referrals…
The person coordinating all of it is usually an exhausted daughter with a full-time job.
We need to talk about that.
So yesterday Donald Trump posted a video of him crashing Stephen Colbert's final show, and literally throwing him in the garbage, and of course, I had to FIX it.
Hunter Biden on Elon Musk:
“You’ve got some motherf-cker who’s made over $251 billion being a United States citizen, that got here and stayed here illegally before he got his citizenship, sitting here lecturing us on who we should allow into the US”
Israel is wiping out village after village in South Lebanon.
Villages older than entire modern states.
Villages that survived centuries of history.
Not military targets.
Civilian homes.
Civilian infrastructure.
Civilian life.
This is what they call a “ceasefire.”
There are over a thousand rooms for rent in Atlanta right now.
Over a thousand in Los Angeles.
360 in Tampa.
Homeowners renting out their bedrooms to strangers just to keep the house.
Renters sharing kitchens with people they met online just to survive.
This is not a housing market.
This is triage.
