I often joke that I have only ever had one job. What I rarely mention is that, in my early thirties, I was building two businesses simultaneously. Not long after the Unipetrol acquisition, a small group of us saw the opportunity to apply for a GSM license. From 8:00am to 8:00pm, I focused on growing the energy business.
The nights, starting from 8:00pm, belonged to telecoms. Seven of us worked until 2:00am daily, refining the bid, aligning partners, and preparing for an outcome that was far from guaranteed.
We won that license, launched, and later exited. Today, that telecom company is known as Airtel.
What's the lesson? Youth is an execution advantage. At that stage of life, sustaining 18-hour workdays repeatedly was possible. Not only because of motivation, but because of capacity.
There is a surplus of energy and tolerance for uncertainty at that stage. Over time, that edge diminishes.
If you are early in your career, this is the period to use that advantage. Take the risk. Endeavour.

As a woman in film, it wasn’t easy getting to where I am today.
It took hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Staying true to my craft, embracing my originality, and carving a niche for myself paved the way
Huge thanks to everyone supporting Behind the Scenes, still showing in cinemas nationwide! Also showing in the UK, US and CANADA. Click link in Bio for my info.

Bishop David Oyedepo consistently has 2 universities in the top 3 of Nigeria’s best universities. Having one at the top for decades is extraordinary enough, having two is peerless.
Today, it is with humility and a great sense of honour that I thank each and every one of the 166 WTO members for the consensus they achieved in supporting my reappointment! Thank you for the wonderful words of recognition and support. I don’t take this lightly. I also want to thank my colleagues in the Secretariat Staff for their dedication and hard work.
This is an enormous responsibility and I will redouble my efforts to work with each and every member to try and deliver the results this organization needs, including the necessary reforms to make it fit for 21st century challenges. We’ve done it before, we can do it again! I am also grateful to my family, my country, to the Africa Region, and to all my friends and colleagues from all over the world who have reached out with hundreds of congratulatory messages. Thank you for the recognition!
Bishop David Oyedepo will always be primarily seen as the enigmatic, generational and transformational church leader he is. He will probably be the first to agree to that being his defining identity. God’s worker.
To only see him that way will amount to wilful blindness or sincere ignorance. None is acceptable.
He is much more. No private individual, dead or alive, can lay claim to his legacy in education from primary to secondary education and two world class universities in Covenant University - arguably Nigeria’s best university- and Landmark University.
Beyond these, the man is a maker of men. Not just in terms of building them up as a church leader. A maker of men in terms of literal economic empowerment. There are thousands of enterprises that cannot tell their stories without referencing his direct contribution.
Let’s not speak about the exceptional exploits of his university products. You just know there is a design at play.
He is a nation-builder. A man whose footprint finds its presence all around the world. You couldn’t write a single book on his impact, let alone one social media post.
This is only to say that when you think of the man, understand that whatever you see or know is only a vignette of his fullness.
Love or hate him, admire or detest him, this is an extraordinary symbol of pride to the Black race. If we were as committed to telling stories of greatness about our people, as Americans are used to doing, we’d understand better.
Happy birthday to Bishop David Oyedepo. I can’t explain. It’s extraordinary. #BDOat70

Visiting the largest women’s university in the world - the Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, with over 30,000 students. Impressive strides in data science, digitalisation, Artificial Intelligence (AI), cyber security and AI driven health sciences, robotics. So strong in STEM and also an interesting curriculum in Humanities and culture. A very exciting visit. With Vice President Professor Fahad Almisned and faculty.
1. I recently learned that although the world's largest producer of cashews is Côte d’Ivoire, the world's largest exporter of cashews is Vietnam.
Vietnam is making a fortune. Côte d’Ivoire is not.
This is a story of successful globalization and failed industrialization.

Earlier today, I visited the Isolo, Lagos factory of @secureidltd; a foremost smartcard manufacturing company founded by Mrs.Kofo Akinkugbe.
I am inspired by the resilience of entrepreneurs like Mrs. Akinkugbe and I hope we can all take inspiration from her as she contributes to deepening the capacity of our economy.
I look forward to providing support to technology companies like hers. #NigerianExcellence
