If you look at the first graphic, you will get a "sliver" of the American trash epidemic. Yet if you read #NatGeo's story, you will not see any mention of US/Canada being a major contributor to the world's trash epidemic.

Same is true for the United States. We are only 4% of the world's population but contribute more than 12% to the world's solid waste. Plastic pollution is not a "third world problem." We have got to look within!
