Bengaluru Metro Rushes Donor Heart Across City in 18 Minutes

In a critical race against time, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (#BMRCL) facilitated the swift transportation of a harvested #HumanHeart aboard a #NammaMetro train today, covering the distance between Goraguntepalya and Mantri Square Sampige Road in just 18 minutes.

​Medical personnel carrying the donor organ boarded the scheduled train at Goraguntepalya Metro Station at 14:22 hrs. Coordinated operational protocols ensured the train arrived smoothly at Mantri Square Sampige Road Station by 14:40 hrs, enabling the surgical team to quickly transfer the heart to a waiting ambulance and rush it to the operating room for a life-saving transplant.

​With today’s operation, Namma Metro has facilitated the transit of six vital organs across the city network to date, comprising one liver, three hearts and a pair of lungs.
