The Tribute video they made for him at the Developers Choice Awards in 2016 is still one of the most beautiful things ever.
One of the rare great ones who cared about people who played the games.
Nintendo’s Satoru Iwata may be 11 years gone but never forgotten, nor his love for the industry he helped build ever dimmed.
“On my business card, I am a corporate president. In my mind, I am a game developer. But in my heart, I am a gamer.”
That one line captured everything about the man.
Iwata was one of us.
He coded EarthBound and Kirby classics, led the charge on the DS and Wii that brought millions of new players into the fold, and famously cut his own salary during tough times to protect his team.
His Nintendo Directs felt like sitting down with a passionate colleague who just wanted you to have fun.
He pushed Nintendo to innovate without chasing trends, always anchored in that simple belief: games should make people smile.
Eleven years on, every time a Nintendo title nails joy, accessibility, or that spark of wonder, you feel his influence.
The industry is better because he was in it.
Rest easy, Mr. Iwata. Your legacy still plays on.
Reposting this touching tribute on this year’s anniversary of Mr. Iwata’s passing. He is missed by his family, his friends, and by the industry he helped to shape and grow. RIP Dec. 6, 1959 - July 11, 2015.
@_ViviVovo_@glitch_prod This is unfortunately, from what I’ve seen at least, how they operate when it comes to SMG4. They’ve tried their best to separate the two before it ended, most Glitchy Boy/Glitch content was removed from SMG4 videos, and this new show isn’t a Glitch show for perhaps that reason.
@_ViviVovo_@glitch_prod When it comes to SMG4, most things get ignored, otherwise Weegeepie would’ve been exposed ages ago. Neither show is strictly apart of Glitch, so it’s not officially their problem. SMG4’s over, and Zaminations only got the character from the creator, so nothing will likely happen.
@AquaProduction4 I'm guessing gooseworx thought people's opnion on caine would change given him setting up that specfic adventure giving everyone false hope playing with them (although unintentionally) and the reveal at the end of the episode.
@_sn4kezzz Guess i was right to back em up. I'm not sure which ones have been removed but you should be able to find them here: https://t.co/YI8EC5Xhw1
I’ve been watching SMG4 since 2011, back when Toad Gold was the latest episode and it’s been a huge part of my life. I wouldn’t be making the content I do or have met so many amazing people without it. Thank you, Luke, for creating something truly special.
