@KeiVollerei feels like those are more team comps than subclasses since characters like promeia could be any of these depending on her teammates or nangong being both disorder and stun
@vamkire_trannel yeah i was also thinking it was going for too long don't apologize tho it was fun no harsh feeling & hope you have a great day man
@vamkire_trannel 100% agree but i also want to say that my original post was never about "this is just sekiro 2!" but how it feels wrong to call it soulslike when from the video it looked like that deflecting is your main mechanic
@vamkire_trannel all your points are good except for the lore, since that's just a style of writing
but to me a big aspect of soulslikes is how you deal with a boss which since demon's to Elden ring has always been rolling/dashing & blocking then attacking (either normal or magic attack)
@vamkire_trannel then what makes a soulslike a soulslike? we can't just call every rpg a soulslike just cause it has character progression
i know parrying isn't exclusive to sekiro it's just the first game that came to mind like i said before
@vamkire_trannel to me yes & i never said those games doesn't do anything else, LoP plays more like sekiro than dark souls to me but it still has rpg mechanic like dark souls & obviously takes alot from the souls games while still having its own mechanics (combining blades & handles)
@vamkire_trannel like i said, i'm a fromsoft fan so i'll obviously first think of sekiro when it comes to this mechanic, not saying that sekiro created parrying in games
agreed that there's nothing wrong with it, it just feels wrong to call it soulslike when other soulsborne doesn't do this
@BetoncuBerat@elbethium can't say for LOTF & wuchang, but it for sure doesn't feel optional in LOP with those red strong attack
you could also argue that it is optional for sekiro with how you can kite multiple bosses
@BetoncuBerat@elbethium i meant more like when they make it necessary and not optional unlike dark souls where it's completely optional
i still enjoyed games with that mechanic, lies of p & stellar blade for example but it's starting to feel samey with every new soulslike that use this mechanic
