My son is Autistic and was diagnosed with PANDAS last year. @UHC approved his infusions, but our insurance this year, @Cigna@TheCignaGroup, won't claiming THEY consider IVIG to be experimental. So, my son suffers brain damage. PLEASE, SOMEONE HELP.

@Cigna denies things THEY consider experimental when there are numerous clinical studies showing IVIG should be the first line of treatment. Meanwhile, a 7 year old boy suffers. @TheCignaGroup Your "doctor" not understanding that autoimmune encephalitis causes behavioral changes
@Cigna has made it difficult for many individuals to access life-saving healthcare. We are advising my husband's (LARGE) company not to contract with Cigna again. If you're an investor, reconsider with a company that has a heart AND employs competent doctors.
@NicoleShanahan do you have any resources to help my son (7) who has ASD and PANDAS AE? Cigna is denying his IVIG, his life-saving medication, saying his issues are psychiatric, while we have blood tests and scans that indicate otherwise. ๐ญ
@Cigna first your company denies IVIG for my son with AE PANDAS. Now your doctor tries to say it's all psychiatric when his scans and blood tests indicate AE. Please get some PANS/PANDAS does literate doctors! High ANA, STREP, AND INFLAMMATION must mean nothing to CIGNA!!
@Cigna my son has been waiting on your insurance company to approve his infusions (which he previously had with UHC) for over a month. Everyday waiting, he's getting brain damage (his body is attacking his brain). Apparently your fax was down. Urgent requests =no communication??
@Cigna I haven't heard anything from your team yet. I guess your team has decided to ask my son's doctor for clinicals. Everything was submitted that was submitted last year to have his IVIG approved through UHC (& it was). Why is this taking so long? It's been over a month.
@Cigna I will be contacting our local news station tomorrow. I give them copies of the recordings I took of our phone calls with your company. I have asked my son's doctor to get their phone call recordings to us as well. They are more than happy to do that. #insurance
@Cigna When can we expect to hear back? I already filed a complaint with the insurance commissioner. We are hiring an attorney this week. There has been a complete lack of any type of communication from your company and we can't keep letting this go on.
@Cigna Our son's doctor put in an urgent request (for continuing care) which is supposed to be reviewed within 72 hours, it has been beyond that and nothing has been done. Cigna staff say they'll call me back and no one ever does. #medicalattorney
