Today at DETCOG — Law Enforcement Training on Conducting Environmental Crime Investigations. With funding provided by the Office of the Governor, DETCOG provided 10,724 training contact hours of peace officer training to officers in our region last year.

Today at DETCOG: Our transportation planning consultants are leading a discussion with regional stakeholders on the state of public transportation in Deep East Texas -- part of our partnership with @TxDOT to update the Regional Public Transportation Coordination Plan.

Suzanne Barnard, State Director of the TxCDBG program with the @TexasDeptofAg is at DETCOG today conducting a regional outreach meeting with regional stakeholders. This program provides federal funds to rural cities and counties for infrastructure improvements.

It's great to have Charlie Glover of the @TLLTemple Foundation participating on a panel discussion on Philanthropic Investments for Rural America at the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) Washington Policy Conference.

It's DETCOG Board Meeting Day in Houston County. We started with a reception at the courthouse in Crockett in recognition of our 60th anniversary year. Thanks to all who came!

@TDEM District Chief Jon Clingaman is teaching @fema series 300 and 400 incident command courses at DETCOG this week. This training is for mid-to-high-level personnel managing expanding or complex incidents and large-scale, multi-agency incidents.
