I made a commitment to improve connectivity across Mwea and make it easier for our people to access markets, schools, healthcare, and other essential services.
I am proud of the progress we have made with the completion of Kiamanyeki, Ndindiruku–Kiumbu, Kiumbu–South Ngariama, Marurumo, Kiorugari, and Kangiciri Bridges, while the Karira Bridge is currently under construction and nearing completion.
These bridges are vital links connecting communities, opening up opportunities, and making everyday movement easier and safer for our people.
Step by step, we are building a more connected and prosperous Mwea.
The Commission on Administrative Justice (Office of the @KenyasOmbudsman), led by Commissioner @RealJaguarKenya, paid a courtesy call on Hon. @MutetiMurimi, Speaker of the Kirinyaga County Assembly (@Kirinyagabunge) , as part of the Commission's engagement in Kirinyaga County under the Financing Locally-Led Climate Action (FLLoCA) Programme.
The discussions centred on grievance handling mechanisms under the FLLoCA Programme and the implementation of the Access to Information Act, 2016. Commissioner Kanyi underscored the Commission's ongoing mandate to strengthen compliance across public institutions and to support counties in ensuring proactive disclosure of information to citizens.
Speaker Murimi and the Commission also explored broader coordination between county assembly systems and oversight institutions on matters of administrative justice, reaffirming a shared commitment to improved openness in public service delivery and meaningful access to information at the grassroots level.
The engagement reflects the growing importance of aligning county governance structures with national accountability frameworks, and the role that institutions such as the Office of the Ombudsman play in anchoring transparency and citizen rights within devolved systems.
Spending time with these incredible women, sharing moments, stories, and laughter is a reminder that when women come together, we uplift families and strengthen Mwea.
Together, we rise.
