Cybersecurity roles used to have a ceiling. Now that’s changing.
Joe Sullivan, former CSO of Meta, Uber & eBay, explains why the next generation of security leaders may be able to get a seat in the leadership room and have a role in running the business.

A Gartner® research report makes a statement that, in our opinion, should stop every cloud security leader in their tracks:
“Without preemptive cybersecurity, no organization is safe.”
The report, Tech FutureSight: Preemptive Cybersecurity is the Only Way to Secure Emerging Attack Surfaces states: “Today’s Global Attack Surface Grid presents a far more expansive, continuously growing, interconnected and complex array of attack surfaces than in the past. It currently exposes a massive number of assets to sophisticated AI-powered cyberattacks.”
Threat actors are using AI to attack your cloud. You need AI in your cloud security program.

Sensitive work doesn’t pause when people leave their desks — and now, classification awareness doesn’t either.
Mattermost v11.10 brings classification markings to mobile, giving every operator, analyst, responder, and reviewer the same real‑time sensitivity context they rely on in desktop and web.
A global banner follows users everywhere in the app, reflecting the server’s classification level. Channels can carry their own markings too, updating instantly when changed. Even threads inherit the classification of their parent channel, so the hierarchy stays clear no matter how deep the conversation goes.
The result is simple but mission‑critical: mobile users always know exactly what environment they’re operating in — server, channel, and thread — with zero gaps between mobile and web.
In high‑stakes environments, that clarity isn’t a convenience. It’s a requirement.

Modern fraud is assembled before it transacts.
8,065 deepfake KYC bypass attempts in eight months. Funds exiting mule accounts in 15 minutes.
An economy, not an incident.
And that points to a bigger problem: by the time a transaction looks suspicious, the fraud may already be weeks old.
Defence has to start where the assembly starts.
Our new whitepaper, Before Fraud Transacts, maps the full fraud supply chain — and what pre-execution visibility looks like in practice.

The first thing she heard wasn't a demand for money. It was her son's voice.
He was crying, struggling to speak, and saying he had been in a serious accident. Seconds later, another voice came on the line, claiming to be a police officer and insisting that an immediate payment was needed before the situation became "more complicated."
Everything about the call sounded real. Before making the transfer, she walked into her son's bedroom. He was asleep The voice she had heard wasn't his.
AI voice cloning is changing the rules of social engineering. Attackers no longer need to steal your identity when they can replicate the voice you trust. A few seconds of audio shared online can be enough to create convincing impersonations that exploit emotion before logic has a chance to intervene.
The High-Tech Crime Trends Report 2026 explores how AI, synthetic identities, and voice spoofing are reshaping today's cyber threat landscape. The next scam may not arrive as a suspicious email. It may arrive sounding exactly like someone you love.
