DP Day is a day of service learning for University of Michigan students! DP Day volunteers will go to Detroit and work on tasks to address community-identified needs, such as blight-removal and community revitalization.

This event is a chance for participants to learn more about Detroit and service learning, and engage with great organizations working to make change happen!

Volunteers may sign up individually, as part of a friend group, or with a student organization. Use this link to register!

Additionally, for the “learning” component of service learning, volunteers will attend a pre-DP Day volunteer orientation, as well as reflect on their service during DP Day.

Not everyone faces the same environmental and economic circumstances and this can put people at a higher opportunity for contracting certain health conditions. This is certainly the case in Detroit with its amount of pollution. Learn more about environmental justice here.

In 2022, The Detroit Partnership will be hosting its first in-person DP Day in 3 years. This day involves bringing U-M students to various locations in Detroit to volunteer. DP is asking for donations to pay for transportation to and from the city. Please consider donating!

This weekend, The Detroit Partnership was able to help out at One Stop Shop, an event put on by the Redford Brightmoor Initiative that allows people to "shop" through free clothes, toys, personal care items, and food during the holiday season.
