Willow Run is long past its prime. It’s been clear since the late 2000’s that the county and airlines based there besides Kalitta Air and AvFlight want to put money into the existing infrastructure. WCAA already sold off the west side to a private company for non-aeronautical use.

@ArmchairAdml Definitely just editing out the tail before posting. If you look in the third photo, it looks like you can see “SPADS” on the top of the inside of the tail which would be a jet from the 94th FS out of Langley, photo shown was from 2023 Airshow for example
O’Hare shut last night due to wicked storms so DTW took a few of their diversions. 20 total diverts, 14 wide bodies. With limited GSE and gate space, it made for an interesting night. Lufthansa, Emirates, Iberia and Atlas Air all parked on the 21R de-ice pad to wait out the storms.
