@PopcastGuys TBH, this series is just shit. They have literally destroyed the comic lantern and Hal character. I mean no way in comics, Hal was shown such obsessed with the ring that he will leave his partner to die. He does know about Manhunters though he is shown as a veteran. Bullshit!

#Lanterns increasingly feels like a family crime drama with Green Lanterns in it, rather than a cosmic DC story about one of its legendary heroes.
If I wanted family crime drama, #BreakingBad and #TrueDetective already exist.

The Manhunter mystery was intriguing, but the payoff disappointed. After building them as ancient cosmic creations of the Guardians, Zoe barely shows extraordinary abilities before being killed by a headshot. Where is the cosmic threat?

The Guardians should feel like ancient cosmic beings with immense authority. Instead, they feel like ordinary bureaucrats. Their direct manipulation of John also feels far removed from the Lantern mythology I know.

If Hal is a veteran Lantern who has already encountered a Manhunter, why does he know so little about them and their weaknesses? Why does he need Sinestro to explain them? A veteran Lantern should be teaching us, not learning alongside us.

I can accept skipping Hal's origin because he's already established. But why make jealousy over John replacing him his defining conflict? Hal can be flawed, reckless and arrogant, but his core has always been willpower and overcoming fear.

Hal deliberately leaves John in a situation where he could die because he sees him as a threat. That's extremely hard to accept from Hal Jordan, especially when Lanterns repeatedly emphasize that we don't kill.
