Ever wondered how DEXs like @STON_fi let you swap tokens without needing buyers and sellers to match? 👀

That’s where AMMs come in.

Traditional exchanges use order books to match buyers with sellers. AMMs take a different approach: they use liquidity pools and a simple formula:

x × y = k

Here’s how it works 🧵👇

Imagine a pool containing TON and USDT.

• x = amount of TON
• y = amount of USDT
• k = a constant value

When you swap one token for another, the pool balances change, but the formula helps determine the price.

For example, if you buy TON from the pool, TON becomes scarcer while USDT increases. This pushes TON’s price up.

Buy more TON, and you generally get less TON per USDT. That’s called price impact.

Liquidity providers deposit tokens into these pools to make swaps possible, and they may earn a share of trading fees.

The beauty of AMMs? You don't need to wait for another trader to accept your exact price. The pool handles the swap automatically.

I think the biggest barrier is complexity and trust. Many people still find Web3 difficult to understand, and security concerns make them hesitant to get started. Projects like TON are helping by making blockchain easier to access through Telegram. The simpler and safer the experience, the faster adoption will grow.

One thing I’m learning about Web3 is that building great technology isn’t enough. People need to actually use it.

That’s what makes TON interesting to me.
By bringing blockchain experiences like Mini Apps, bots, and wallets closer to Telegram users, TON makes Web3 feel more accessible.

It got me thinking: maybe mass adoption isn’t just about building something new, but making it easier for people to use.

I agree. Pavel may have made the right decision, and these things take time, especially when fundamental changes and bureaucratic processes are involved. Still, communication is key. A clear statement from Pavel explaining the decision, the progress so far, and the next steps would help people understand the bigger picture. Proper announcements and media coverage of new developments would also go a long way in building confidence and managing expectations.

Honestly…

I’d argue that Pavel did the right thing. However, it will take time until the picture comes together.

There are a few fundamental developments that must take place before further action.

Also, sorting out the bureaucracy takes time.

And so far, only thing is missing, is the communication from Pavel himself & the proper announcement/coverage of the news/features/new developments.
