NEW: More details on PlayStation’s reported digital strategy:
- No plans to reverse its decision on physical media
- Retail strategy won’t change
- Stores will reportedly sell empty game cases with download codes
- Sony believes players will eventually accept a 100% digital future
- Insiders claim Sony sees little need to maintain close contact with fans, trusting the strength of the PlayStation brand and community loyalty
Selling first-party games digitally also allows Sony to keep 100% sale price, instead of sharing roughly 30% with retailers.
An analyst told IGN: “With around 50 million PlayStation Plus subscribers, even if 500,000 canceled in protest, that’s just 1% of the business, unlikely to make Sony rethink. Digital is simply too lucrative.”
@RossIsClutch Not as interested as I was hoping to be, I still feel like the world champions should not be included in either tournament and Jey was one of the weaker options to make it to the finals in my opinion and for me if Liv or Jey win I might stop watching until who knows when
@wrestlelamia No offense to Jey I think he's good up until a certain point but I'm not a fan of the bloodline or this bloodline saga if he wins congrats but I'll be so uninterested in that result that I'll just stop watching until I hear something that intrigues me enough to watch again
@Fightful I'm not a fan of tribal chief Roman so I'm not to enthusiastic about him being champion again I just hope that the endgame is oba dethrones him
@Fortnite Blitz's performance is terrible compared to it's initial release I tried playing 4 different games and it looks and plays terrible compared to how smooth and fun it was the first month of this mode
