Wishing everyone a very happy Independence Day. May this day inspire us to keep working even harder to realise the dreams of our freedom fighters and build a Viksit Bharat. Jai Hind!
Two champions of international education who significantly impacted relationship between India and Australia. Love this picture @dpradhanbjp@mksouthasia
On her last day as Head of Austrade - South Asia, Dr Monica Kenedy joined me on a call on Minister of Education @dpradhanbjp. Charming photo of the two of them. @AustradeIndia#Farewell#education 🇦🇺🇮🇳 #dosti
When I was in business school, the idea of India overtaking Japan in GDP felt like a distant, almost audacious dream. Today, that milestone is no longer theoretical — we’ve become the world’s fourth largest economy.
It’s no small achievement. Japan has long been an economic colossus, with legendary productivity and resilience. That we’ve caught up is a testament to the ambition and ingenuity of millions of Indians — across sectors, generations, and geographies.
But as we celebrate, we must stay dissatisfied.
Because India’s next leap must be in per capita GDP, not just overtaking Germany…
For us to keep Rising, India needs sustained economic reforms — in governance, infrastructure, manufacturing, education, and capital access.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has successfully executed its assigned tasks in Operation Sindoor, with precision and professionalism. Operations were conducted in a deliberate and discreet manner, aligned with National Objectives.
Since the Operations are still ongoing, a detailed briefing will be conducted in due course. The IAF urges all to refrain from speculation and dissemination of unverified information.

Many congratulations to PM Shri @narendramodi and @BJP4India coming back for 3rd term with a stronger majority. #India is poised to achieve greater heights under PM Modi's leadership. Week of good news including 8.2% GDP growth and RBI bringing back 100 tonnes of gold. #ExitPoll
I can say with confidence that the people of India have voted in record numbers to reelect the NDA government. They have seen our track record and the manner in which our work has brought about a qualitative change in the lives of the poor, marginalised and downtrodden.
At the same time, they have seen how the reforms in India have propelled India to being the fifth largest global economy. Every scheme of ours has reached the intended beneficiaries without any bias or leakage.
It won’t surprise you that my #MondayMotivation this morning is the #MaryadaPurushottam Lord Ram.
Because he is a figure that transcends Religion.
No matter what one’s faith, we are all drawn to the concept of a being that is dedicated to living with honour and with strong values.
His arrows are targeted at evil & injustice.
The state of ‘Ram Rajya’—ideal governance—is an aspiration for all societies.
Today, the word ‘RAM’ belongs to the world…
And again Deakin is a first-in-India. The Deakin University GIFT City Campus, India, was inaugurated yesterday by Australia's High Commissioner to India and Chancellor John Stanhope. Its a huge day for Deakin and a significant marker for Australian international education.
On the occasion of 30 years of Deakin University's presence in India, Chancellor John Stanhope, VC Iain Martin and VP South Asia, Ravneet Pawha met PM Narendra Modi in Gandhinagar, discussing Deakin's commitment to India's research and education and the new GIFT City campus.
30 Years. A period that demonstrates @Deakin University’s commitment to #India and a sign of the level of trust that Deakin has built with partners and students for its quality #education experiences and outcomes.
