The City of Detroit welcomes a landmark commitment from Dan Gilbert, pledging $1 billion in development capital to reimagine the iconic Renaissance Center and surrounding 35-acre east riverfront district.
Detroit’s future is rising! #RiseHigherDetroit
Unfortunate delay, but will certainly simplify things for the developments of 1350 Michigan Avenue and 1728 Michigan Avenue. These two 2027-2028 residential apartment builds will no longer need to work alongside MDOT until the second half of 2028. #Corktown
@detroitdevdoc@jcreindl@DetDevelopment Not yet. Just recently got approved for NEZ though, which means they’re on the clock and will probably break ground soon.
The Reckmeyer apartment complex is now underway; update below from @jcreindl. This project’s timeline directly correlates to Basco’s Corktown project at 1350 Michigan Avenue, which is slated to open by late 2027:

Corktown now has a restored vision 👓.
A 1933 warehouse, formerly an eyeglass and mirror manufacturer has been redeveloped into loft-style apartments, 14 of which are residential units for households earning up to 80% of the area median income.
Steps away from Michigan Central Station and the Joe Louis Greenway, Bagley Vision’s name pays tribute to the Detroit Mirror and Glass Company, that once operated on the site. The building features ground-floor retail and dining, and a landscaped outdoor gathering space.
$7M residential development nearly complete on Bagley Street near Michigan Central in Corktown, with the ground floor designated for retail:

A closer look at one of Capitol Park’s newest transformations. 🏛️✨
This historic corner has seen quite a few chapters… from Albert Kahn’s original 1921 design to decades of alteration, and now a complete redevelopment that brings the building back to life.

Friday fuel, but make it fresh!
Mike stopped by Summertown Fresh Bar in Corktown for a smoothie and iced coffee — and that coffee flavor HIT. 😂🔥
Delicious, nutritious, and definitely worth the stop. Who’s been?!
AlumniFi Field in Corktown will immediately become the jewel of @USLChampionship stadiums when it opens in 2028. My advice to fellow Michiganders is that you will want to experience games in Hamtramck now to understand what makes the club special.
Forever, For All starts here 🔴🟡
Yesterday, we broke ground on AlumniFi Field in Southwest Detroit, and we couldn’t have reached this moment without the community that built this club.
Thank you to our development partners, civic leaders, Mayor Mary Sheffield, and everyone who believed in this long before there was dirt to turn.
This stadium is for Detroit. Want to be part of what comes next?

I just told the guys in studio that I think the Tigers are gonna win the World Series and the Lions are gonna win the Super Bowl this year.
They think I’m crazy.
⚽ Today is more than a groundbreaking. It’s the next chapter in one of Detroit’s best grassroots success stories. @DetroitCityFC is officially building its permanent home in Corktown, transforming a long-vacant site into a future home for thousands of fans. 🎥 Tim Pamplin
