@Apostate1123@morgan_andreww@TourSwingsTommy Proper sequencing makes it look like she’s swinging slow and easy when reality is she’s swinging very fast but with very efficient energy transfer.
Way ahead of its time. One of the most honest depictions of American empire yet it still manages to be low key hilarious in how bluntly it presents its characters.
Evening viewing recommendation? On the Criterion Channel, watch WALKER (1987) — Alex Cox's hallucinatory biopic that breaks all cinematic conventions. Featuring a powerful score by Joe Strummer and a performance of intense, repressed rage by Ed Harris, WALKER remains one of Cox’s most daring works. https://t.co/R8y4D4xx34
@PetreRaleigh It’s the paranoid logic of the slave holder. A subconscious reckoning with the blood on their hands. “If I free my slaves they’ll kill me. And why wouldn’t they? I deserve it”.
I remember playing ball at my suburban high school and watching this doc and thinking “yeah lemme go ahead and crack these books”. I didn’t, but I thought about it.
@NewJohnPACity Older filmmakers come from a time where they welcomed technological advancements as many of them were genuinely helpful and expansive. They cannot grasp that technology has become a purely extractive force.
Sad but not shocking. Marty comes from an era of filmmaking when almost every technological advancement was universally welcomed and adopted. He has no framework for how extractive and dehumanizing technology has become.
Martin Scorsese has joined a generative AI startup as a partner and advisor.
He adds that he has used AI during pre-production to help with storyboarding — “with this tool, I can share what I’m visualizing more clearly & efficiently to my creative team — the production designer, art designer and cinematographer.”

@JeffDLowe I don’t think they all juiced. I think the premise is athere’s no testing so if you do juice no one cares. Fred Kerley is one of the top sprinters in the world and is tested regularly. Doubt he’d jeopardize that for this nonsense.
I didn’t think Hartenstein was playable in this series — but if he’s gonna be allowed to maul and grab Wemby like this on every play he should play 48 minutes. This is hilarious.
@BootsRiley Very refreshing to see someone who’s made great movies be self conscious about how many movies they haven’t seen. That has been a big hurdle for me creatively lol.
One of the greatest psyops ever is how the government trained the black community to have this blind disdain for free markets/capitalism, the very and only systems that has made it thrive at any point. Black Wall St..built on free markets/capitalism. Then was destroyed intentionally and somehow capitalism got the blame while govt engaged in more intervention,exclusion/colleges indoctrinated everyone with Keynesianism; now we have masses of mentally captured people who don’t grasp economics regurgitating the same anti-capitalist propaganda labeling cronyism “capitalism” while spreading fallacies
It’s become clear that American security guarantees are next to worthless and the only thing protecting a country from being invaded or bombed is having nukes. Wouldn’t be shocked in South Korea and Japan does the same.
