@FeerTwitch If in the rlcs we get to see every time someone gets a reset its going to make for some hype moments where something weird happens like this and people are waiting to see whats done with it.
@KingRobinSB@JamaicanCocoRL I think that view focuses too much on mechanics, which Rocket League players already do, and push decision-making and strategy to the side. I'm not saying htiboxes matter more than skill, but acting like small strategic edges are irrelevant in an esport isn't right either.
@KingRobinSB@JamaicanCocoRL Even if it is worse in other areas, it is not to the point where completely ruling it out as a possible strategy is reasonable. Its an esport, one where there is already little strategy to begin with. There is untapped potential here than no one wants to pay attention to.
@KingRobinSB@JamaicanCocoRL That may be true, but if players really prioritized the hitbox that does the most things well, Hybrid would get far more discussion. The bigger issue is that hitboxes are barely explored at all. Even if one is worse in some areas, dismissing its strategic value is lazy.
@JamaicanCocoRL Objective is probably too strong. My main issue is that hitboxes are a neglected part of Rocket League. There's actual strategy there that people mostly ignore. If a pro team wanted to specialize in 50s, they could even build around something like the merc.
@JamaicanCocoRL Let me give you the objective hitbox rankings coco my boy.
1. Plank/breakout
2. Hybrid
3. Dominus
4. Octane
5. Merc
I dont know if pros will ever seriously look into hitboxes. For example, I think nwpo could play better on breakout because it has the tightest turn radius at ss.
@JamaicanCocoRL I think the most important part is that the hybrid hitbox is nearly the same as the Octane, but with extra length and a tighter turning radius, which maker it a better version in my view.
