Dear Indian hydrological community,
We are happy to share that the Indian chapter of YHS has been started and we are online already!
We invite you all to connect, collaborate and thrive!

Won as a team of four eminent people including me, Abinesh, Yessica and Yuan from across the globe in the 2nd IAHR ecohydraulics challenge.
We could see that the hydropeaking pulse flows in the river poses a challenge to fish in early life stages.

Conservation of regional lakes and tanks that offer retention storages- It's the story everywhere be it Bangalore or Chennai! Desilting alone may not be suffice as we have urbanised the catchments, the tanks may be cutoff from the source.
#Bengaluru's 193 surviving lakes can be desilted, made rainwater storage tanks. City's topography that has allowed an inter-connected lake system gives us this option. In the K C Valley alone, about 5.2 TMCft of water can be stored. ...Contd
WAY OUT OF #BENGALURU'S RECURRING WATER CRISIS
Record rains in 2021 waterlogged city's roads, flooded sewers. Harvesting it wd've helpd city avert any summer water crisis. With annual avg 787mm rain,it cd hv easily met 18TMCft yearly demand. @DeccanHerald

Reminds me of the parable of the frog slowly boiling in hot water! @COP26 was actually unlike other COPs as it was the first in the new era of @LossandDamage from human induced climate change! Tackling climate change is here and now, no longer future! https://t.co/ZbiT4DxDN8
@Wendy_Stone@1GlobalAcademy Hi @Wendy_Stone 👋. Thanks a lot for the interest. Please find the article in @indiawater on our work related to the role of small water bodies (tanks) in flood mitigation.
