Some personal news: I’ve officially left @FlaDems to work at @MiVecinoFlorida, a community-based Hispanic voter registration org that @Aberrios04 and I cofounded!
After 1 month, we’re the voter registration leader in FL🚀
Excited 4 this next chapter & to turn FL BLUE🌊
Before EDay we moved 41,801 low-propensity voters to the polls. We’re waiting on EDay data but we think this number is even higher!👏🏼
In 2022, 34% of the voters that Mi Vecino mobilized had never voted in a midterm election before; we used those strategies again this year!🔥
Our work doesn’t stop when elections end. Since EDay, we’ve helped distribute groceries to 240 families impacted by the hurricanes, delivered 300+ Thanksgiving Meals & partnered w/ local church leaders & elected officials to serve hot meals & host food drives across Central FL💙
With just 11 days until Election Day, 17% of the voters we’re speaking with remain undecided on how they’ll vote on Amendment 4.🗳️
EVERY single conversation we’re having right now MATTERS!👏🏼
Our entire team will be off tomorrow. We will make a plan for the weekend once we assess the damage. For those in-state: please listen to officials & evacuation orders. For those out-of-state: please pray for Florida and our communities as we brace for more devastation💔🙏🏼
Because of the bad weather, some voters are changing their voting plans, and our team is helping them do that. Florida voters still have 2.7 million ballots that have not been returned.🗳️
Mi Vecino Hurricane Update‼️
Our Central FL Team was off Monday & both teams (Central & South FL) were off yesterday to prepare.🌀
Today, some of our staff are calling voters to ensure they have what they need ahead of the storm & to talk about Amendment 4.🗳️
