We were pleased to award 2 DGT Awards at our Christmas event last week. Congratulations to Oldway Gardens Volunteer Group & Wood. Tim Richardson's talk on The English Landscape Garden: Dreaming of Arcadia certainly got us thinking of historic landscapes in a different light.
🌳Our Bicentenary Arboretum allows you to explore a rich collection of trees by region: Europe on the east, southwest Asia near the Gazebo, Chinese & Japanese on the south and North American species along the western perimeter. See it in new light illuminated during #RHSGlow!

The Bear Hut (Grade II*). Interesting and eccentric early-C19 'picturesque' building. Includes single-celled 'hermitage' with stained glass window and flooring in deers' knuckle-bones. Central room lined and roofed in matting decorated with pine cones.
Delighted to learn that @HistoricEngland has added Peamore Park (that part west of the A379) to the register at Grade II. DGT's application to HE was based on our extensive research.
What a fantastic private visit to Wood, South Tawton, Grade I listed. Early C20 formal gardens & parkland designed by Thomas Mawson. For more details see our website.
