For some, the first instinct would have been to transfer out. For Blake Bell it was to stay and find a way on the field.

Even though he was coming off a season where he led OU to road wins over Notre Dame and OSU, Bell was being asked to switch from QB to tight end for his final season in Norman.

Bell could’ve left and played QB elsewhere. Instead, he stayed and found a role at tight end. Bob Stoops told him it would be the best thing for his football career. He couldn’t have been more right.

Today, Bell has two Super Bowl rings and is headed into his 9th season in the NFL. He’s also still a fan favorite in Norman for what he accomplished at both QB and TE.

“I just thought it was best for me to stay here and finish my career. I love this place. The university, the fans, everything."
