“Merlin—!?”
Celeste mustered her strength to fight back her own pain and contractions to kneel at his side.
“Merlin!”
She’d shake his shoulders and even tried to sit him up. The guy had the worse timing.
“Wake up, idiot!”
" I brought him home. . . . "
A small smile before he completely knocks out. She was exhausted and injured but still alive.
Her son was the complete opposite. Not a single scratch on him, but he was asleep too.
“Merlin?”
Celeste muttered out upon looking at him. She noted all of the injuries he’d retained—Easily understanding that it was her son who had done this.
As instinct, she stood up to head towards him but immediately trembled while clinging to her stomach.
" Celeste. . . . .? "
In a weak and tired voice as he struggles to even walk straight. Parts of his fur were burnt and unable to move correctly.
It seemed like the monkey did a lot of damage to the wizard.
Upon having to just had her visit, she’d been trying to hold back.
As of now. .
Shes taking her seat at the table and shakily trying to sip her tea.
Her twelfth cup.
Celeste was shaking as she took a few short breaths and hardly noticed her beloved walk in.
The infern’ is Nez?
Celeste hadn’t been around the house since he’d left. How long has it been truly for them to fully evolve?
“I’ve. . I’ve missed out on his. . aging—“
She tried not to tremble as tears began to show in her eyes. At this rate, that demon of hers >>
" Or maybe Merlin is trying to talk to Nez.
Nezha looked up to his father a lot. And Merlin. . . .He's probably what's trying to tell everything about his father. . .
The truth about everything. "
Celeste’s gaze quickly went to reach theirs.
“An Infernape?
Nezzy’ had been missing for weeks to search for his father. It’s not Sunny’, you think? Could he had come back and Merlin is chasing him off—?”
" I saw him chasing an Infernape before I fell down at the front door?
I don't know who and what you're man is doing. . . .wait— you mentioned Nezha being missing, right?
Could that Infernape be. . .? "
He said to his concerned daughter.
Celeste croaked softly at the thought of actually being with Merlin.
How they started off.
Then. . How she might lose him.
Would he leave as well?
She nervously sipped her tea and tried to suppress her anxious thoughts.
“D—Do you know where Merlin is? Did you see him?”
"Tch--Don't make me overthink more."
Celeste shoved his shoulder before serving herself a bit of tea.
"He might have also impregnated me just out of pity too--Who knows."
" Maybe she is and maybe he doesn't. But think about it. Would he truly do all of this just because he feels bad for you?
She could have simply giving you and Nezha a roof under your head until you feel like moving out— "
Croak.
"Merlin is particular with his things. . That goes with the tea as well. I didn't think I'd be in this position.
Falling for the one that meant to only help me. It happened so fast I. . Sometimes feel that he's only with me because he feels sorry for me."
" I mean that sounds good. But I will still keep my tabs on her.
You can never know if she would break her promise. "
Genji finally takes a sip of the tea. As he let' out a quick croak.
" This tea is remarkable, sweetie. Guessing, you did take some of your mother's traits. "
Celeste grumbled out--Soon handing him his cup of tea along with a slice of baked good she made earlier.
"Merlin said that it wanted to take over the child as a way to make it stronger. . because it was going to hatch weak--Almost premature. Sick like me when I was small."
" You need to remember who took care of your grandmother when she was in the similar state as you.
And as for negotiations, finding a way to keep you and your unborn alive—like I don't know. . . . Making her stronger or something like that. "
" Is they're nothing you or Merlin can do about it?
I thought he was trying to find a cure for you? Unless there was some negotiations between you, him, and the spirit? "
“Either way, we can’t find him. Merlin can’t venture far because he’s worried to leave me for too long.
I didn’t expect to be with him—Moving on so fast.
But, I’m glad that I did. . Now, I’m just worried for the new addition
She’ll have this curse.”
— I never wanted to let him go. . . .until he died. Your grandfather also demons that he had to fought to protect us. . .
But what i'm going with this is he has to learn the truth. He can't grow without lost something or someone. "
“You try explaining that to your own child—No, I haven’t.
Even if I did, do you think he’ll believe me? He looked up to him. . Even I don’t believe it.
I don’t want to believe it. .
What would you do—How would you feel if mother left you?”
" Nezah? He left too?. . . . . "
His grandson is gone too? Why what he leave like that. . .
" Wait. Sorry if this is going out of topic, but have you told Nez the truth about Sun's abandoning you? "
“You keep saying that but have anyone been of any help?
I’ve suffered through this for years without answers, only the fact that it’s going to pass down to my next child.
And Nezzy—He left too.
We can’t find him.
I. . My whole world is coming apart.”
Celeste was prepping some tea for her father to had, only to freeze as he mentioned her episodes.
Merlin was out for the moment, maybe searching for Nez.
She didn’t want to get anxious without him here.
“Ah. . —I’m fine, father. . Maybe mother is wrong.”
It seems like Maeve's visions were right about being an object cover in shadows.
" You know how your mother is with her premonitions.
She wanted to check if you're doing alright, and had any episodes since moving in with Merlin. "
Celeste lead him to the kitchen so he could sit.
She’d sighed out and stretched out her back, fully exposing the belly bump.
“You’re heavier than you look, you know? I’m glad for the visit, but this is somewhat random.”
" I didn't know where Merlin's place was. . . .so I ask your mother for assistance.
You know I'd rather walk a walk then anything else. . .but with your mother's powers out of control, her placement could be random. "
“Where did you—When did you. . Did mother send you here?”
Celeste quickly grabbed onto his arm and rested it over her shoulder to help him up.
“Why didn’t you walk over here? Are you that lazy?”
As a tease, they pulled fully away to put a space between them.
Hands holding up as a retreat but still had that sadistic smile.
“Aight, fine. If you’re so worried about your lady, I’ll step back. . I’ll give you the choice.
See you in bed.”
The amphibian >>
A slight moon came out of his mouth.
" I don't want to break her heart. I love her too much to do something like that towards her, even with everything she went through with her old love— "
He let out a small fireball out of his mouth to how down bad he is right now.
