I spent the morning writing and moving around houseplants. I’ll spend the afternoon reading and watching college football…because it’s finally that time of year again. 🎉
Holidays involving fireworks are usually a stressful affair around here. So far tonight, it seems like we may have found a solution that doesn’t involve a long drive to the middle of nowhere to try to escape the noise. Padded noise-cancelling headphones for 𓃡…I ❤️ technology.
To be clear, I do my best not to engage with trolls on any social media platform. Twitter death threats for my mere existence taught me that lesson years ago. ☕️
I decided to revisit Post and do some exploring during this latest Twitter meltdown. I posted there about what I found both better and not-as-good about that experience.
The men of Post showed up with a quickness. How fucking dare I have a different experience than theirs. 🙄
Some women commented with what worked for them, but the men…wow. They were armed with their actually’s and their criticisms of me personally. I was even told by one that I was the reason Trump was elected in 2016. The outright laugh that I had at that one… 🤣🤣🤣
If you watched CNN tonight, ask yourself why. Why play into their cheap ratings ploy? Did you expect to learn something new? Did you think he had changed?
Just. Stop. Watching. His. Bullshit. (And @CNN should go fuck themselves.)
THREAD: A STORY: When I was working for the Department of Veterans Affairs as the supervisor of the San Diego VA Health System Call Center as a GS-9, I wanted to create a monthly customer service award. Kind of like an “employee of the month”. 1/

We live in a post truth world. Facts are irrelevant.
The safest drug has the most regulation.
What happened in Tennessee is the latest example of a broader erosion of civility and democratic norms. Silencing those who disagree with us is a sign of weakness, not strength, and it won’t lead to progress.
Tonight as Tennessee House Republicans push forward to schedule vote on our expulsion, Speaker Sexton orders the gallery cleared as crowd chants “fascists.”
Media forced out at as well.
Then, Rep. Lafferty (R-Knox) pushes me and grabs my phone.
This is a sad day for Tennessee.
I think about the way women—especially women of color—have to be sweet & kind & palatable to fit into spaces that don’t want to welcome us only to have that weaponized as weakness and it fills me with so much rage.
I’m always grateful for everyone who chose public service anyway
