I emailed this to our Senators this morning. They’ve ignored their oaths of office by sacrificing Oklahoman’s 2A Rights.

To Senators Lankford and Mullin,
As your constituent, a veteran, and a law-abiding gun owner in Sand Springs, I’m writing to express my deep disappointment over your failure to defend the pro-2A provisions that were recently stripped from the reconciliation bill—specifically, the removal of suppressors (Hearing Protection) and short-barreled rifles/shotguns from the National Firearms Act (NFA).
Let me be very clear:
These items were added to the NFA as tax instruments. Their regulation is entirely based on revenue, making them perfectly appropriate for reconciliation. The Senate Parliamentarian’s ruling was inconsistent at best—and it should have been challenged aggressively, not passively accepted.
Instead, I watched other controversial provisions get quietly added back in through procedural games, while Second Amendment rights were treated as disposable. This sends the message that defending gun owners is optional—but advancing social agendas is non-negotiable.
You campaigned on standing up for gun rights. When the moment came, you stood down.
I am not asking for special treatment.
I am asking you to honor your oath—and to show the courage to fight for constitutional rights when they are under threat by bureaucracy, not just by legislation.
I will be closely watching how you proceed from here. Gun owners like myself are done with empty rhetoric and political showmanship.
We’re looking for results—and we won’t forget who did or didn’t deliver.
Respectfully,
James and Donna Johns
