I would give this weight if it were your typical director, but this film had over 200 shooting days over 47 weeks and numerous scenes shot with tons of takes and some scenes being reshot entirely. Couple this with Kubrick’s obsessive nature for the visual and story, “common film mistakes” don’t add up. Added to this was his critical role in editing the film, which also had a very long schedule. I struggle to believe he would allow things like light switches and chandeliers to be swapped out without noticing. And he would only have had to catch an instance one time to go back and look. I am no authority - just find the weight of things support The Wendy Theory in a persuasive manner.
