@Perky_43 I think the fact that Scotland runs a model similar to what is proposed, with far more jury-less trials, without issue shows it won’t end the world as everyone knows it.
@DannyShawNews The key to solving this or anything else isn’t rocket science. But like all things, it costs £££ across the whole system. So we redesign the wheel constantly to avoid anyone having to take responsibility for the lack of funding. There are no new things in all the world.
@gmhales Gone through a few different systems but I think right now it’s anywhere within 30miles / 45 minutes travel. Back when first started it was you could be posted anywhere!
@west_response Other half a teacher, who have a similar regime based around their ‘registration’ and it’s all tickbox things, of agreed no value to say they are doing CPD. Appraisals duel hat as a ‘reflection’ etc. It’s like the value of moodle for non compliance work, useless!
@grumpypleb@PoliceScotland It goes without saying that we are also using a camera that is one of the worst in class and where what little direct integrations we could have, we aren’t paying for!
@west_response I’ve always thought we are a rights based organisation is a hoot of a line when you consider how the organisation actually acts. They should say ‘except in respect to our staff’
@hudson77449685 I’m not convinced we have really ever tested what that means really though. I’m not really convinced that binds us into having to slavishly just go anytime there is a hint of risk or undertake any behaviour that is detracting from our core role etc.
@WeHaveWaysPod@almurray@James1940 7 and 8 not a hair between them but for different reasons. Thought 7 conveyed the horror and pointlessness of the finals days really well. But the stuff in episode 8 with Monty in particular and the surrender etc was also sensational and gave a real sense of his character
‘RELENTLESS’ IS NOW LIVE!
Police officers in Scotland face violent attacks, make split-second life-or-death decisions and carry the emotional weight of every call they respond to.
This film tells the story the headlines don’t. They aren’t fictional scenarios – for many officers, they are a daily reality.

@hudson77449685@PoliceScotland In common with most public sector jobs, people who want promotion traditionally have to ride the merry-go-round of different jobs to pad out their development journey / CV. We are just on fast forward due to the number of retirements etc
@theprole21 I agree the whole thing is folly but I’m also interested in the rationale of not locking up ‘girls’ but we will lock up ‘boys’ and how that can survive legal challenge in terms of equality
@therabbithole This is a common trend really no matter the fiscal issue you look at. One recently in the UK was about public sector investment ie should more be invested. Strong yes indicated but when asked how much they personally should be asked to pay, that got very unrealistic results.
@garethkthomas@EachOtherUK 2/2 Correlation doesn’t necessarily equal causation either.
We must also remember that there is a responsibility to other children in the environment which must be taken into account.
@garethkthomas@EachOtherUK Boundaries, expectations of behaviour and standards are all important life lessons. The flip side of this is that there must be consequences for actions. This is a notion we are fast losing and I don’t think society is better for it. 1/2
