Thank you @EmilyAssembly for supporting us the entire way. We couldn't do it without your support! Also to all tenants - don't forget that your voice matters! Dripping water hollows a stone - do not stop fighting for what you deserve.
Congrats to 40 Oak St, an affordable housing bldg that’s part of the 421A program. After a year of broken promises and mismanagement, their 200 person strong tenant association applied for a rent reduction and won.
After many months of organizing, tenants at 40 Oak St in Greenpoint won a rent reduction order!
They successfully fought for compensation after consistent elevator malfunctions & denial of promised amenities. Credit to @nycCoRe for fighting for these affordable housing tenants.
@LincolnRestler @NoKingsDems @nycCoRe As President of the 40 Oak/23 West TA, Lincoln's team has expressed unwavering support for us and been relentless in putting pressure on Halcyon. I was in the tense meeting where @LincolnRestler and @EmilyAssembly demanded change.
Disgusted by Halcyon's abuse of affordable housing tenants at 40 Oak / 23 West—especially when the *public* is subsidizing it. My office has been working closely w/ the Tenant Association. Grateful for @rick_paulas@Greenpointers in-depth reporting here. https://t.co/eWjk5ZPwf3
