We had farms back then, and men had the strength to run them and the equipment. Today America has very few farms and the equipment is so technically efficient it can be run by a 12 year old.
The INDUSTRIAL AGE started in the late 1800's. It was BLUE COLLAR work and, while some women and children worked in factories, their wages were so pathetic it wasn't worth running a house on. The men were valued for their SKILLSETS women couldn't perform because they didn't have the strength. Skyscrapers built with massive steel rails were going up, railroads were being built, cars, ships, airplanes,...you get the picture. Women relied on men to make the money for the household. Most men were valued for their blue collar skills, woman for their domestic support roles. Once again...this could have worked, but MEN ABUSED THEIR POWER. TERRIBLY.
Now men are not needed as the STRONG ones, the PROTECTOR, the LEADER, the educated LEADER who knows what's best for his family.
He had that role. He resented it, he ran around and cheated, he became an alcoholic, he gambled away their money, he beat his wife, he molested his children, he chose not to go to go to church, he became lazy, he was a terrible role model, lived beyond his means, and left her with nothing when he died.
WHY WOULD WOMEN FOLLOW A MAN when she can negotiate an equal partnership or simply do it on her own? You guys have shown us what you can do, hmmm?

Her "English" is NOT "just fine". If no one can understand her after 30 years...she needs to adjust her ACCENT and become more coherent. She has plenty of money for instructor s. She simply is UNWILLING. Don't make excuses. There are many foreigners that learn to speak and be understood. She is in a prominent position and should make a concerted effort to speak coherently.
